Returning a piece of furniture to Circulari isn't the same as a standard return at any other online store. This isn't about the 15-day right of withdrawal for unused products — this is about our circular return system, which lets you recover up to 30% of your purchase value once the furniture has already done its job at home, however many scratches and marks it has picked up along the way.

It's the question we've been getting the most lately, so let's walk through it from start to finish: how to activate it, what condition the furniture needs to be in, and how to decide between a 30% voucher or a 15% refund.

Before we start: which return this is

If you've just received an order and it's not what you expected, the standard return guarantee applies (15 days, unused product in its original packaging) — you can check the details in our shipping and returns policy.

The system we're talking about here is different: you activate it once the furniture has already lived in your home, your child has outgrown it, or you simply don't need it anymore, and you want to give it a second life with another family. There's no deadline tied to your purchase date — you activate it whenever it makes sense for you, and it covers our whole catalog: cribs, beds, desks, shelving, wardrobes, tables and chairs.

Step by step: how to activate your return

  1. Log in to your Circulari account and indicate which piece of furniture you want to return.
  2. Choose your preferred compensation: a 30% discount voucher or a 15% refund. If you're not sure yet, keep reading — we'll help you decide further down.
  3. Pack the furniture, ideally in its original packaging or something similar that will protect it in transit.
  4. Schedule the pickup with the carrier from your account; we take care of coordinating it.
  5. We inspect it at our workshop in Barcelona: we check that every piece has arrived and that the furniture is suitable for remanufacturing.
  6. You receive your compensation once the inspection is confirmed.

What condition does the furniture need to be in?

This is the part that raises the most questions, and the short answer is reassuring: normal wear and tear from life with kids isn't a problem. Scratches, everyday marks, the odd surface knock — that's exactly what the system is designed for. We build our furniture in solid wood precisely so it can be sanded, re-varnished and made to look like new again in the workshop.

What we do ask is that the structure is intact: no broken or missing pieces, and in a condition that allows it to be inspected and remanufactured in the workshop. That's the only real requirement that separates furniture suitable for the circular system from furniture that isn't.

If you're unsure about the condition of a specific piece before starting the process, just let us know when you request the return in your account — we'd rather sort it out with you beforehand than have you surprised at the workshop.

30% voucher or 15% refund: how to choose

Both options come from the same piece of furniture, but they follow a different logic, and which one suits you depends on what you're planning to do next:

  • 30% discount voucher: applied to your next purchase at Circulari, it never expires and is transferable, so you can use it yourself, gift it, or even sell it. It's the option that gives you the most total value.
  • 15% refund: paid directly into your account. It's less money than the voucher, but it's immediate liquidity that doesn't depend on you buying from Circulari again.

Two examples with real numbers:

  • Return the Minicuna colecho Nimbi, bought for €499: a 30% voucher is €149.70 towards your next purchase; a 15% refund is €74.85 back to your account.
  • Return the Cama 190/200 Nono, bought for €799: a 30% voucher is €239.70; a 15% refund is €119.85.

In both cases, the voucher is worth exactly double the refund. The logic is simple: if you know you'll need the next crib size up, a bed, or any other piece of furniture for the same child or a sibling, the voucher usually pays off because you're doubling the value you recover. If what you need right now is to recoup part of your investment with no more kids' furniture purchases on the horizon, the refund is the honest choice: less money, but available right away and with no strings attached.

When do you receive the compensation?

The voucher or refund is issued once the furniture arrives at our workshop and we've confirmed that all the pieces needed for remanufacturing are there. It isn't issued in advance of that inspection — that's precisely so we can confirm the furniture's actual condition against what was reported in your account.

If you have any doubts about a specific case (an incomplete set, a piece damaged in transit, etc.), we cover the most common situations in our FAQ.

And if you'd like to understand why this is, today, the only guaranteed return system for children's furniture in Spain, we go into more detail in ¿Qué muebles infantiles se pueden devolver en España? (article available in Spanish).

Every piece of furniture that comes back to the workshop instead of ending up in a container is one less piece manufactured from scratch: less wood, less transport, less waste. That's the part of the circular system you don't see at the moment of choosing between 30% and 15% — but it's the reason the whole system exists.
